In the first 30 days, I would like to spend time shifting myself into new industry. Since I would be moving from the consulting industry to the financial service industry, I assume that some characteristics will differ. For example, a fast-paced, diverse, and collaborative atmosphere will be the two sectors share. However, different perspectives in sales and client base would be the significant characteristics that would differ. I would also learn more about the team, cultivate a positive relationship with co-workers, and introduce myself to critical partners. Especially, forging a trust-based relationship with key partners would be essential in this position because I would need collaboration with analytics department and various industry analyst to hit the sales target in the fast-transforming energy market landscape. Even though I would not have an opportunity to work with key stakeholders until the end of the training, breaking the ice would help me be more efficient in the future.
