What economic crisis do you think would be the most difficult for Koreans?

Korean experienced big or small economic crisis so far. I think that it was the IMF event that we had the most difficult event. IMF occurred at the end of 1997 because of shortage of foreign-exchange. At that time, I was just elementary student so I was not aware of what was going on and did not understand how significant this event was. Considering on the event now, it was really harsh time to almost Koreans. Most of the company managed to run their company, and some of them became bankrupt. Bankruptcy of many companies caused lots of employees to be fired and many people to commit suicide; as a result, unemployment rate and suicide rate during the IMF were much higher than now. However, fortunately, people tried to gather as many gold as possible in order to raise foreign-exchange. Thanks to the efforts, Korea could come over the IMF on the third year and recover economic condition. Without the everyone's effort, Korea would be suffered from the economic crisis now.
