What exactly are people looking for when they buy luxury goods?

In my personal opinion, people want to make others think that they are affluent enough to afford those luxurious expensive items. Those visible goods can express people’s financial ability in a most direct way. Knowing that how rich the person who are they dealing with, people can prevent to be behave inappropriate. It is mean to behave regard of the opponent’s financial power, but there are so much rude people who wouldn’t behave so it they knew the opponent is a rich. I think, due to those sort of people, there must be some people who rely on luxurious goods to protect themselves from the rude. Even though there are other factors for it, nothing is more major factor than showing off and make oneself seem more better than it really is. Of course, there can be some people who just want spend his own abundant money or who really do think those goods are high-quality so it is affordable. But I can sure that buying luxury goods which is not appropriate for one’s income is a bad purchase.
