First, in order to prevent the spread of incorrect rumors and ease the public’s anxiety, the government should be transparent in sharing and disclosing accurate information about the infection in a timely manner. At first when the outbreak of MERS occurred, the government did not reveal any detailed information about how serious the infection was, how it was contagious and how to prevent it. Second, an initial response cannot be too emphasized. The poor initial response can result in the loss of opportunities to contain the disaster in each incident. With MERS, an opportunity to contain the infection was lost when the health authorities only monitored people who were in the same room as the first patient. Had it more aggressively and swiftly responded to the first case, the spread of MERS could have been better contained. Third, a control tower overseeing and coordinating the various efforts should be established for better an prompt handling of the case.

Fantastic day to you Sir [이름]!

Thank you so much for your time and effort.

Yes, you are right, they should have been more transparent in terms of the virus.

They know well that people might panic but it is also a way wherein citizens will be more cautious.

Let us hope that everything will turn out fine soon.

Talk to you in class.
