What is the craziest example of a luxury item you have heard of?

Not to mention about ultra luxury products which price range is way above our imagination and cannot thinkable to consider purchasing in my world, even just normal goods sold in the department stores are too much expensive. I went to the department store near my house yesterday to buy a pair of trouser. Although I was already aware that they sell almost all of the their goods at extremely high prices, I was surprised again by checking the price tags and I had to stop looking around and asking prices. Among luxury goods, there is an item that I particularly don’t understand about its crazy price. It is a handbag, just a bag that is made of animal’s leather. Comparing to the cost of non-luxury bags that are sold on the street markets, its cost of luxury bags will be slightly expensive or at least not to exceed like 100 times to the maximum. However, the price gap between two bags is huge like 50 or 100 times. To women, a luxury bag seems to be a means of establishing her self-esteem.
