what is the difference?

1. He waited at the car. 2. He waited on the car. 3. He waited in the car.

Hi [이름], These prepositions (in, on, and at) are called the prepositions of places.  You use "on" with spaces for example in the room/ in a building or in the garden/in a park.  WE can also use it with bodies of water like in the water in the sea in a river. Lastly, is with lines like in a row ,in a line in a queue.  We use AT with places like at the bus-stop at the door at the cinema, including places on a pages like at the top of the pages or at the bottom of the page. We also use it in groups of people like "at the back of the class" or "at the front of the class".
