Unfortunately, most of Korean people live in apartments and mostly two or three households live on the same floor. Back in the day, people living in the same apartment complex knew each other and maintained the close relationship with their neighbors. All the residents in the complex used to have regular meetings to share things of common interest even including just small happening in their everyday lives. However, people these days want to keep some distance from others and getting more independent. They even don’t know who their next door neighbors are. When they come across their next door neighbors in the elevator, they keep silent and just touch their smart phones to avoid the awkward silence. So, the question of “what kind of person would be the perfect neighbor?” gives me a hard time to pinpoint his/her characteristics. I think there is one important quality that I wish my neighbors to have: being polite.We are living in the same building, we should be considerate of others.
