What life lessons did you learn the hard way?

The lesson that I personally learned the hard way is definitely that being honest is the best way to solve the difficult problem. We might get into trouble along the way in our life by doing something wrong or making mistakes. In order to avoid the difficult situation or get out of trouble, we can easily think of making excuses and telling lies. Deceiving yourself and others seems to be working for a while or at the first place, however, it can only make things worse. Once we tell a small lie, you might have to tell bigger lies to cover it. Unfortunately, early in our life we learn that dishonesty can have incredible short-term benefits. It can get us what we want. It can make it easier to please the people around us. Honest people trust themselves. Never underestimate the life-changing power of the ability to trust yourself. Pretending to be something you are not requires constant attention to detail, even for the most experienced. Honest people are better able to relax.
