What makes information credible?

In my opinion, there are at least three factors that make information credible.
First, it has to be supported by a clear reference such as reliable press or a research paper published by named journal. If the source hasn\'t been publishing false information, it can be believed easily.
Second, using quantitative expressions helps making information credible. Unless the information contains exact numbers, it can be suspected to be exaggerating.
