I\'ve heard it\'s a common interaction in ecology. For example, a female octopus and mantis eat their partner to receive extra nutrition and energy to produce offsprings or eggs. And big size snake, like anaconda, or king cobra eat the small size of one as food. Both patterns are for increasing the chance to survive.
What about human beings? Cannibalism has documented in some parts of the world(Fiji, the Congo etc). More recently, the crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571(1972) is famous for the fact that some survivors ate the bodies of the dead. But I think it must not happened to human beings. Because people are different with others species. We manage to make food and handle any kinds of tools to survive. Most of all, we can feel conscientious and have ability of ethical judgement. If you ate the bodies of dead in an emergency and you\'d finally be alive, how could you endure the load of the guilty from cannibalism, whether it considers a crime by law or not? In my case, I cannot.
