What should one do to keep his/her nose clean?

I think that there are a couple of things which people should bear on their mind to keep their nose clean. First, you should be honest to other people. People tend to lie to other people to escape from a kind of troublesome situations. However telling a lie usually makes a situation worse than before. For example, even if you make a terrible mistake in doing some tasks, Admitting your faults would be better than telling a lie to your boss and other people. They might be more generous than you expect them to be. Second, I suggest to you that you should think about the problem that you are facing in a position of opponents or other people.
