What traditions do you have in your country in welcoming a new neighbor?
학생이 쓴 원문
I don’t know the traditions of welcoming a new neighbor but I know the opposite case. When someones are new neighbors, they usually give their neighbors rice cake which is covered with red beans on its surface in the past. The most kind of rice cake is this. I don’t know the meaning of the rice cake so I looked it up on the internet. The meaning is to defeat ghosts and to wish to stay without problems. However, it isn’t like this anymore. Most of the people in Korea live in apartments and are very busy so many people don’t know their neighbors. However, this situation is except. If someone needs to fix and change the house’s interior design before moving, he or she explains it to their neighbors first because of noises and gives a small gift to ask for an excuse. I heard that my friend gave their neighbors a roll cake instead of a rice cake for her new interior design recently.
