What would you do if most of your friends couldn\'t make it to a special event?

I graduated my university 10 years ago, but I still don\'t like to go alone some places gathering people. I am being a little bit of unpleasant when I am surrounded by strangers, especially for having fun. However, unfortunately, there are more chances to go, because of special reasons like weddings or funerals that are not related with my enjoyment when I get on in years. It was very awkward if I would be thee alone, but there is a more important thing than my feeling. I could share host’s delight or sadness through attending them. So, nowadays, I can go to a special events though I mind that I have to go alone.
