Which greetings are typical in your country?

We have several types of greetings we use depending on situations. In this essay, I would like to describe the body language of them. Frist of all, most common thing is to bow, bending our upper body toward counterpart. When we meet an older person, or a senior or a customer, or any situations that we should be polite, this is the most formal way. If we see some people who more bend their body, we think they want to be more polite. Secondly, hand shaking is also a good greeting. Except for customers in shops or restaurants, we usually use it, but it is hard to show our respect. Koreans have many honorific expressions, so we use it with bowing. For example, a younger person slightly bow their body, as he or she moves to a older person to shake hands. If you met someone very close, you could also hug, but this case is quite low. Finally, The most traditional greeting would be to sit on our knees and bow. We usually do it only for ceremonies or rites, like a wedding or a funeral.
