We often say that it is the thoughts that count when it comes to gifts. However, the thought behind the gift does not count as much as the gift itself. Money is the most convenient form of gift, but I personally think that simply giving money as a gift seems insincere and half-hearted. Although some people like to receive cash as a gift and feel more valuable, but I personally would appreciate more if I receive a well-chosen gift. We should put as much thought into a gift selection as possible. Thoughtful gifts would elicit more gratitude than thoughtless gifts. When givers are evaluated, they felt less emotionally connected to recipients when they put little thought into the gift. So we have to choose a gift well taking recipient’s taste into account. If you want to give a gift that someone will appreciate, then you should focus on getting a good gift and ignore whether it is a thoughtful gift or not. Many people have been disappointed with receiving gifts that they don't like.

Happy second day of the week Sir [이름]. ^^ Thank you so much for sharing your insights about the topic. I guess it is really nice to receive a gift that is well-chosen or made. I totally agree with you. Giving money as a gift is practical but for me it is half-hearted. I hope that you are going to receive many gifts this holiday. ^^ See you in class. Take care.
