We need to figure out a way and make an effort to develop economy to improve people’s well-being, while we have to conserve energy and protect the environment. I think that we cannot choose one of them. For instnce, in a poor country, there are many people who are in desperate need of proper shelters and drinkable water. In order to help them, we need to build houses and supply water, which leads to destroy nature to some extent. Look at things that we benefit from in our daily lives: roads, bridges, electricity, buildings, automobiles, cell phones, internet, sewage system, etc. Without even one of them, we can hardly endure for 24 hours. We use and enjoy them at the expense of destroying our environment. How to balance between the two is a key when we work on improving people’s life. Global warming is a hot issue these days. Natural disasters are the nature of revenge.
