People are not born corrupt from the beginning as human nature is fundamentally good rather than evil. Most of us are born with clean slates, so to speak. Some are going to be born with the propensity for anti social behavior wired to their DNA, but genetics are not destiny. Most people have grown and been educated to tell good from evil. We are to feel guilty when we behavior in a way that is not accepted in a society. We all highly value and praise virtue. Our voice of conscience will speak loudly when we perpetrate a crime. However, a human is so weak that he/she is vulnerable to temptations. When people once tasted a sweet, they could not hardly resist or quit the sweet. Unless you have strong will, you would be easily beaten by evil. The beginning is important because once you receive a bribe for the first time, the next time will be much easier for you to do that. It will become natural for the third and fourth time. And eventually your conscience won’t work as it should be.
