Why is it important to have a good name?

I think having a good name is important for the following reason. Most of all, a person’s name has a great impact on determining his or her first impressions to others. A person’s name is nearly the only way to designate him or her. So, whenever someone calls your name, your name will inevitable affect the unconsciousness of others. For example, each culture has its typical masculine name and feminine name. In Korea, Chul Soo and Min Joon are the representatives of men’s name, and Younghee and Eun Ji are those of women’s name. If these names are assigned to a person with opposite gender, people who first meet him or her will be embarrassed by his or her gender that does not match one’s name. Hence, it is necessary for people to have proper names that correspond to their features such as gender to some extent to shape name holder’s natural impression.
