Why is privacy important?

What is privacy? Why do not people want to reveal some parts of their lives? When we usually call ourselves as social animals. Literary, human being cannot survive alone and like sharing their thoughts. On the other hand, ironically, we also hope to keep something behind closed doors from others, especially where others can evaluate us negatively even though these behaviours are no harmful for anyone. This might be another side of the coin of social animal, because we are always conscious other’s reputation and eager to show bright side. Now I can find the answer of the original question. Privacy is basic characteristic that we have to protect as a member of communities. We can easily see the news what many people are tortured from revealing personal lives, and some of them commit suicide. Presumably, they would think that they are not able to sustain their social lives with horrible humiliation. Without any physical harm, we can kill someone through just touching on private zone.
