Will China continue to grow and dominate the world economy?

Thanks to the lower production cost, abundant workforce, and centralized control by the government, the Chinese economy has grown rapidly for last two decades. China’s sudden rise has given significant impact to the world economy and changed the political landscape of surrounding countries. Even Korea is forced to choose between the two countries in all of the areas of economic, diplomatic and military cooperation: the United States which has been a long and traditional ally to Korea and China that is a new emerging world power. However, Chinese stock market plunged by 9% this Monday which was so called Black Monday. It has dropped 27% since the June 8 peak and hit the record low since the global financial crisis in 2008. Now, people are concerned about a hard landing in the world’s second largest economy. Will the Chinese economy collapse or sustain the growth? It depends on how fast China will reform and adapt to the open and dynamic world economy.
