I would not consider investing in real estate even if I have excess cash. First, I am not thinking of staying in Korea for a long time, and I am currently doing a job-hunting for an overseas job. Therefore, I cannot find any reason to purchase real estate. The real estate regulation has changed this year, and I have to stay a minimum of two years after buying new house, and I do not think I would fulfill this criterion. Most importantly, there is a taxation reason. I need to pay a possession fee whenever I own financial instruments, and the price tag is the highest for real estate. Alongside this, the national insurance fee soars accordingly. As far as I remember, my health insurance is 10,000 won per month. However, I have to pay from 100,000 to 300,000 if I have any real estate.
